In the Pink: A Celebration of Women, Wellness, and Community
Tonight, Fauquier Hospital hosted its annual In the Pink: Ladies Night Out—a beloved community event celebrating women’s health and wellness each October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The free event drew women from all over Fauquier County, including members of the Fauquier Ladies, a local social group for women 50 and older that helped support the event by spreading the word to encourage a terrific turnout for an evening that blended fun, self-care, and connection.
The main room was filled with local vendors and artisans displaying everything from exotic plants to hand-stitched pillow toys and jewelry. One of my favorites was Yellow House Jewelry Designs, featuring handcrafted gemstone pieces—each with its own name and story, such as the “UBU” necklace, made of colorful glass-blown beads — each unique and as individual as each of us.
Guests were greeted with complimentary refreshments, sweets, and plenty of pink punch—an Instagram-worthy nod to the event’s signature color. Every registered attendee received a Fauquier Health tote bag filled with goodies, including a commemorative crystal champagne flute. A pop-up flower stand by Becca’s Bouquets added a delightful touch, allowing everyone to choose their own blooms and create a unique bouquet. Volunteers from Fauquier Health carefully wrapped each one—mine, to my surprise, was wrapped by Rebecca Segal, President and CEO of Fauquier Health!

But what truly made the evening special was the opportunity to connect directly with Fauquier Health physicians and providers. Attendees could speak one-on-one with OB/GYNs, orthopedic surgeons, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals in a relaxed, informal setting. Conversations covered a range of topics—from preventive screenings and joint health to mental wellness, self-care for every stage of women’s lives.
Each conversation earned attendees a stamp in their “passport,” a fun way to encourage visiting multiple provider tables. At the end of the evening, guests could turn in their completed passports at the checkout desk to enter a raffle drawing for beautiful gift baskets filled with skincare products, pampering items, and wellness services.

Between the engaging discussions, the shopping and the SWAG, In the Pink was more than just a night out—it was a reminder of how important it is to care for ourselves, connect with our community, and support one another.
A heartfelt thank-you to Fauquier Hospital, the volunteers, and all the local businesses who made this year’s event such a success. If you missed it this time, mark your calendar—In the Pink returns every October, and it’s an evening worth looking forward to.
